2001 Kawasaki 250 KLR Dual Sport W/ Scorpion Exhaust.
Up for bid is my 2001 Kawasaki KLR 250. 45 year old Lady owned and ridden. Probably the best all around Kawasaki Dual Sport ever built. KLR250 was built for 20 years and discontinued in 2005. This model is already hard to find
because they are such a good bike and very much in demand. Do a search. First off the color might confuse you. It’s a 1998 color. My 1998 was getting a little tired, so last year i found this Lightly used 2001 for replacement. I like the 1998 color better than the 2001 Olive Drab so I swapped all plastic and gas tank before I sold my 1998 for $1700. This is an awsome get around gas saving bike. I average about 70 Miles per gallon, no matter how or where I ride. Alot of people use KLR 250 to commute since it gets such great gas mileage and can cruise freeway speeds no problem. This bike handles the road as well as the trails with ease and is very predictable. I put 21k miles on my first KLR in 3 years then I bought this bike to replace it last summer. I’m not real tall so I also swapped the suspension links with High Quality ‘Koubalink’ lowering Links to lower the seat height. Koubalinks were also on my 1998. If you’re not vertically challenged like I am I have the stock links so you can put the bike back to stock height. I also added the $450 Stainless Oval ‘Scorpion Exhaust’ for more free flowing power and sound. Scorpion muffler is Quality built in UK and never needs repacking. I have the original muffler and it goes with the bike sale. The bike has an RK 520XSO X ring chain with 1500 miles on it. I get an average 7500 miles with these chains before replacement. Also included is the owners manual. Original tool kit is in the stock waterproof zippered pouch on the rear fender. This KLR 250 looks, sounds and runs great! The original tires are on the bike and the rear could stand changing for a new one. Front tire still has a ways to go. Too bad Kawasaki quit making these bikes since they are really bullet proof and versatile as well as Super dependable. If you live in California you know this is a hard bike to find. It is California emissions legal and California registered until July 2008. Yearly License tags are inexpensive as is insurance for a 250cc bike. Come and get it, you won’t be disappointed.

The Kawasaki KLR250 dual-purpose motorcycle is designed with variety in mind. On or off the highway, the smallest KLR comes through in a pinch. On city streets or Highway it’s comfortable and capable. Will cruise 65mph without strain. When you venture off the pavement, the bikes long-travel suspension and ample ground clearance more than accommodate the gnarliest of unexplored paths. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
