Now that is out of the way, Here is a 2001 Ducati 748. Two Brother’s exhaust with the Fast By Ferracci chip. Bike run’s great and is a blast to ride. Great torque and power out of the turns. This bike is a head turner with the looks and the sound. I am the second owner and would love to keep but, I have a baby due in Jan. and it needs to go. Bike has never been down and is clean. The only two thing’s I know that is wrong is the guages have a small crack and the chain side frame and pipe have some scuffs. Previous owner said he had a chain break that caused this. Never a problem with me it has carbon fiber covering the frame and you can hardly see the pipe dings. Always garage kept. Has brand new front and rear tires. Michelin pilot power. This is a 2001 Ducati 748 Biposto. This is the cleanest 2001 I have ever seen. It is all stock except for the Termignoni pipes and a chip that goes with them. I also had a friend with a machine shop ventilate the stock clutch cover. I love the sound of the dry clutch and this keeps the clutch cool as well. The engine had it’s 6000 mile service and I went ahead and had them change the belts as well. The brakes work great and have plenty of life left. No pads look worn thin. The clutch grabs smoothly, and hard. The tires have about 75% tred left. According to Nichols, the shop I have service the bike, and my own personal experience the bike is in perfect running condition. The engine sounds and runs great. There is a smaller than a dime sized scratch on the gas tank that I touched up with paint from the Ducati dealership. Not sure how it got there but there is no dent and you can hardly see it (see the picture with the arrow and the dime). There are also a few tiny little rock chips on the front lower fairing behind the front tire (see picture) these are hard to see unless you put your head right down there. I have all the stock parts as well as a fender eliminator kit that is very sturdy and minimal. The kit holds stock or aftermarket blinkers as well (see pics of stock parts and pic of after market fender eliminator kit). Every thing on this bike works, lights, levers, etc… except for the stock switch that turns the engine off when the kick stand is down. That switch is anoying when you want to let the bike warm up. Now you can just put it in neutral, start it up and leave it on the kickstand like most other bikes. I have supplied plenty of pictures including close ups, and a video so you can see exactly what you are bidding on. Please let me know if you are having problems viewing the video. I also invite you to come check the bike out. With 7,000 in hand I will allow test drives. This bike has been kept very clean and believe it or not I didn’t even wash it before I took these pictures (pics taken on 11.3.07). It seems I have less and less time to actually ride this bike as it deserves to be ridden. Lately about the only exercise it’s gotten is my commute to work once or twice a week (and this bike was NOT made for commuting). When I feel like wicking it up a bit, I go to the track and ride my race bike, so this bike seems to be stuck in limbo somewhere. However, for someone who actually has the time and desire to go barrelling through the canyons, this is the perfect motorcycle. It is red and has~ 24k miles on it, now here are the details.

In PERFECT mechanical order. This bike has been serviced by Ken Zeller (evoluzione cyclesports - the people that built Tom Cruise’s crazy 999s) and Scotty Waters (ex-race engine builder for Vance & Hines Ducati - generally recognized as one of the finest ducati techs/tuners in california) and I have ALL records to prove any bolt that’s ever been turned on this bike. Also, any mods were professionally installed by these men and not by some shadetree mechanic (me). The 24k service is DONE and had new belts/valves adjusted/forks done/brake fluid flushed/the whole shebang.

Mods:
-5 Spoke Black Marchesini Wheels off an S2R-1K.
-Cycle Cat adjustable clip-ons.
-Remus Titanium 1/2 system w/ matching DP chip.
-AP Racing adjustable ratio master cylinder (puts Brembo to shame - a $700 piece, came off a WSBK!).
-AFAM quick-change rear carrier/sprocket.
-Aftermarket clutch cover (can’t remember who made it tho).
-I’m sure I’m forgetting something, but this bike truly needs nothing unless you feel you need ohlins suspenders (and who wouldn’t like those?).

Issues:
- Mechanically, as I said, there are none, this bike is perfect.
- DOES need a new rear tire within probably 500 miles.
- A few scratches on the lower fairing, very small and nothing abnormal for a bike that is 6 years old.
-There is one spot (shown in one of the detail pics) where the previous owner dropped it in his garage and he half caught it, leaving a little scuff that didn’t even break the surface of the paint completely.
- The Infostrada on the side of the bike IS a decal and is removable should you care to (It was there when I bought it and I actually came to like it). It was put on by the previous owner and is not a perfect application, but like I said it is removable and I think it looks pretty nice.

The bike is a BiPosto and includes the passenger pegs (not shown in picture) and the passenger seat (currently has a monoposto seat cover installed). So, you will get both the seat cover and the passenger seat - you can choose whether you want the mono or bi-posto look.

All service has been done including valve inspection/adjustment. All belts changed, fluids, timing, valves adjusted and rockers checked (2 were replaced, rest were fine). Service and work performed by Duc Pond Motorsports. Other than the flywheel, the engine is stock but runs VERY strong and feels nice and tight. The suspension is set up for someone about 200-225 with gear and handles like its on rails. All the work and parts listed on the bike are less than 8 months old and have less than 300 miles on them.
It has been on its side one time, by the previous owner, while breaking in new pads on cold tires. He was going less than 10-15 mph when he went down and the only damage was some scratches to the water pump housing and scratches to the clutch lever and bar end. The left side lowers were scratched (they have been replaced). Bike has one small crack in the right side upper (as seen in pics) that occurred by when it was stepped on while the fairing was off the bike.
This was my dream bike. It is beautiful; literally a work of art. Unfortunately, my back and wrists can’t take touring on it, and I can’t afford to keep it merely as a piece of art. It’s a darn shame the bike isn’t more comfortable as it’s also one of the cheapest sportbikes to insure ($400/year vs. $950/year for a CBR600RR for full coverage through Geico). So, I’ve decided I want something with a less extreme riding position, more sport touring or cruiser oriented.
